A profession can be defined as an occupation which requires some specialized study and training, and the purpose of which is generally to provide skilled services and guidance in lieu of a definite fee or remuneration.
Traits of Professionalism
ü A profession must have a possession of a body of specialized knowledge and  extended practical training.
ü A profession renders social service
ü A profession demands continuous in-service training of its members.
ü A profession has a clearly defined membership of a particular group, with a view to  safe guarding the interests of the profession.
ü A profession have a code of ethics.
ü A profession ensures professional career to its members.
